Clinical Services

Our counseling services help you to pinpoint and focus on a specific concern and create multiple potential solutions. The American Counseling Association defines counseling as, “A professional relationship that empowers diverse individuals, families, and groups to accomplish mental health, wellness, education, and career goals.”


Psychotherapy sessions tend to go a little deeper into your concern by focusing on root causes from various periods of your life like childhood and adolescence or focusing on relationship patterns that contribute to your reaction regarding the concern. According to the Mayo Clinic psychotherapy is defined as, “A general term for addressing mental health concerns by talking with a psychologist or other mental health provider to help you learn about your condition and your moods, feelings, thoughts and behaviors. Psychotherapy helps you learn how to take control of your life and respond to challenging situations with healthy coping skills.”

We may use dance/movement therapy techniques to help you look at how your body responds to your concern such as shallow breathing or tense raised shoulders. The American Dance Therapy Association defines dance/movement therapy as, “The psychotherapeutic use of movement to promote emotional, cognitive, physical and social integration of individuals.” It is a specialized counseling profession recognized by the National Board of Certified Counselors to provide assessment and intervention of body movement.
